The direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) applied for the concentration of the primary reverse osmosis (PRO) retentate was presented in the paper. All the experiments were carried out using the self-made hydrophobic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes. The DCMD process (permeate flux and
