With the aim of obtaining RO membranes for brackish water desalination from purified celluloses (cotton linters and bleached bagasse pulp), two reactions (heterogeneous and homogeneous**) were applied for the synthesis of cellulose acetate (CA). The efficiency of the membranes was measured and compa
